A fast, reliable way to make water safe to drink in an emergency: drop in, wait 30 minutes, and drink. Chlorine-based and safe for normal use, lightweight enough to keep in any emergency kit, and also useful for cleaning fruit and vegetables. For cloudy or heavily soiled water, filter first, then use two tablets per litre.
